GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: December 1, 2022

 

Girls Basketball

Congratulations to Coach Lilly and the girl's basketball team on their 56-46 victory over Davenport Assumption on Tuesday and 62-54 victory over Bishop Heelan last Saturday.  That win gave Coach Lilly his 600th career win! The Saints are 2-0 on the season and will play again on Friday at Kennedy.

 

Wrestling

Good Luck to Coach Chambers and the wrestling team Thursday night in their meet at IC Liberty. Matches begin at 6:00 PM. Also, good luck to our wrestlers competing in the Independence tournament Friday and Saturday. Matches begin Friday at 2:30 PM

 

Boys Basketball

Good luck to Coach Freeman and the boy's basketball team Thursday night for their game against Center Point-Urbana. Good luck to Coach Freeman and the boy's basketball team as they travel to Waverly Shell Rock on Saturday. The tip-off is set for 3:30 PM.

 

Girls Swimming:

Congratulations to Maria Trotta for receiving 1st team All-Metro honors in the following events: 50 free, 100 free, and the 200 free relays. Maria was also selected 1st team All-State in the 50 free and Honorable Mention All-State in the 100 Yd free. Good Luck to our swimmers from CR Washington who will be competing at the Ames Invitational against Ames HS on Saturday.  The meet begins at 11:00AM

 

Dance:

Congratulations to our Dance team who competed in the Stack the Stands competition on Saturday at Prairie. The team placed 1st in medium varsity Pom and 2nd in medium varsity Hip Hop. In the Solo competition, Saylor Eggelston placed 3rd in the sophomore division and Alyssa Ramler placed 1st in the Senior division.

 

Bowling

Congratulations to the following bowlers who bowled both high game and high series at their meet on Tuesday. Eli Koopmann had a high game with a 244 and high series with a 457 and Miranda Nolte had a high game with a 175 and high series with a 321.Good luck to Coach Camacho and the bowling teams as they host Linn Mar Friday at May City Bowl. The meet begins at 3:45PM.

 

Choir/Band

Good Luck to Mr. Allard and all the band members competing at the NEIBA District Honor band on Saturday in Oelwein.

 

Boys Swimming

Congratulations to the following swimmers who placed in the top 3 in their events on Tuesday: For Cedar Rapids Kennedy Chase Decker placed 2nd in the 400 Freestyle Relay and 3rd in the 100 Yd Backstroke. For Cedar Rapids Washington Remy Barton placed 1st in the 500 Yd Freestyle, 2nd in the 200 Yd Freestyle Relay, and the 400 Yd Freestyle Relay. Brian Foerster placed 1st in the 200 Yd Freestyle Relay and the 200 Yd Medley Relay and 2nd in the 500 Yd Freestyle and the 100 Yd Breaststroke Jack Schimberg placed 2nd in the 200 Yd Freestyle Relay and 3rd in the 50 Yd Freestyle and the 100 Yd Freestyle. Seth Williams placed 1st in the 200 Yd IM and  2nd in the 400 Yd Freestyle Relay. Joe Semelroth placed 2nd in the 400 Yd Freestyle Relay.

 

Dance

Good luck to the girl's dance team who will be competing at the Iowa State Dance Championships Thursday! The soloists who will be competing are Caitlin Lee, Saylor Eggleston, Delainey Boge, Reegan Flugge, Lainey Reeder, and Alyssa Ramler. The Dance team will also compete in Poms and Hip Hop.
