Choir and Art

• Congratulations to Mr. Walker and all the Xavier Choir Students.  They put on a spectacular performance Tuesday in the Xavier Catholic Schools Choir Festival!  

 

• Congratulations to Mr. Rittmiller and Mrs. Budde for successfully hosting the first Xavier Catholic Schools Art Festival on Tuesday as well!  A lot of great work representing all of our students was on display.

 

BPA

• Congratulations to the thirty-six Xavier High School business students that qualified for the BPA National Conference being held in Washington, D.C., from May 5 thru 10.

BOYS BASKETBALL

• Congratulations to Coach Freeman and the boys’ basketball team on an exciting victory over Cedar Rapids Jefferson on Tuesday 68-62 in two overtimes!

• The Saints now are 9-11 on the year and 6-11 in the MVC.

• They will be in action tonight as they host Dubuque Wahlert in the final regular season match-up of the year.  It is also “Senior Night” for our eight senior boys. The Varsity tip is scheduled for 7:30pm.  

• The Boys are in substate #4 for their postseason run that starts on Monday February 24th.  They will travel to Central DeWitt to take on Benton Community. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 start.  Tickets are $6 for all spectators. 

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

• The Saints finished the regular season 14-7, 14-5 in the MVC.

• The Saints will be back in action at home on Saturday in Regional Semi-Final games.  

• The Saints will host Decorah in the Class 4A Region 3 Semi-final on Saturday February 22nd at 5:00pm.  Tickets will be $6 for all spectators!  

 

BOYS & GIRLS BOWLING

• Congratulations to Coach Camacho and both the Boys and Girls Bowling teams.  They both won their district meet yesterday and qualified for the State Meet on Tuesday next week at Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo. 

• Boys finished with a team total of 3226 with the High Series by Dale Weaver of 459 and High Game by Justin Trcka of 266.

• Girls finished with a team total of 2513 with a High Series by Olivia Nolte of 452 and High Game by Olivia of 247.

• Also congratulations to Olivia Nolte on being the Girls Individual Champion with a score of 452! 

• The State Meet will be held at Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo on Tuesday February 25th.  Bowling starts at 10:00am and is $10 per individual.  

 

Show Choir

• Congrats to the Xavier Show Choirs on their outstanding performances this past Saturday at Benton's Touch of Class!  In what was a very crowded field, Xuberance finished 4th Runner-Up in the Prep Division, and Xhilaration finished 3rd Runner-Up in the Open Division, while finishing first amongst 3A schools.

• In addition, Xhilaration received the award for Outstanding Costumes, and both Tyler Reid and Jacob Sires were recognized as Outstanding Soloists in their respective divisions. 

• The show choirs compete again next weekend at the Marion Masquerade competition.

 

WRESTLING

• At the District meet held at Marshalltown:

  • Christian Stanek finished 2nd

  • Caelen Shannon finished 3rd

  • Ryan Cook finished 3rd

• Congratulations to these guys who finished top 3 at districts.

• Congratulations to Christian Stanek on qualifying for the Individual State Wrestling Tournament in Des Moines.  

• Class 3A wrestling will start today at 9:00am at Wells Fargo Arena.  Good luck!

 

DANCE TEAM

Good luck to our Xavier Saints Dance Team as they compete in the National Dance Competition in Orlando, Florida this weekend.
