Go Saints! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: January 23, 2020

Band

• Congratulations to Allison Talyat for being selected as the winner of the 2019 Corridor Jazz Project CD Cover Design competition! 

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

• Congratulations to Coach Freeman and the Boys for their 52-50 victory over Waterloo East on Tuesday!

• The Saints will be back in action tomorrow night as they host Iowa City High in the MVC matchup.  Tip is set to start at 7:30pm.  

• The Saints will make up last Fridays’ game vs Iowa City Liberty will be Saturday the 25th.  Game time is set for 1:00 with the sophomores and Varsity to follow at 2:30pm.

• The Boy’s game vs Charles City that was scheduled for Saturday the 11th will now be on February 1st at 8:00pm at Kennedy High School.  

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

• Your Xavier Saints Girls Basketball Team picked up the victory on Tuesday over Waterloo East 66-13.    

• Congratulations to Coach Lilly and the entire Girls team!

• The Saints are now 8-3, 8-1 in the MVC

• The Saints will be in action again tomorrow night as they travel to Iowa City High.  Varsity tip is scheduled for 7:30pm.

• In a make up game, the Saints will host Cedar Falls on Monday February 3rd.  

• The Iowa City Liberty vs Xavier basketball game has been rescheduled for Saturday 1/25/20.  JV will play at 2:00 and Varsity will play at 3:30pm. 

 

BOYS & GIRLS BOWLING

• A BIG congratulations to senior bowler Dale Weaver on recording his 2nd 300 of the season on Tuesday!  Great work Dale!

• Congrats to Coach Camacho and our Saints Bowling Teams on their performance Tuesday in their make-up match with Waterloo East!

• Good luck to the boys’ and girls’ bowling teams as they travel to Western Dubuque tomorrow to take on the Bobcats.  Bowling starts at 4:00pm. 

 

Football

• Congratulations to our six Saints who earned Academic All-State honors from the Iowa Football Coaches Association:  Bryce Serovy, Matthew Weih, Nick Banowetz, Andrew Dupont, Tyler Dupont, and Ethan Hurkett

 

BOYS SWIMMING

• The Saints swimmers for CRK, CRW, and CRJ will all be traveling to Dubuque Hempstead for swimming starting at 12:00pm.  Good luck to our swimmers!

 

Robotics

• Good luck to the robotics team on Saturday Jan 25th.  They travel to Marion High School for the League Championship. 

• The top 12 teams advance to the Super Qualifier Championship in Waverly on Feb 1st.4

 

Speech

• The speech team will be heading to Monticello for Large Group District Speech.  The event starts at 8:00am. Good luck to all of our Saints involved with speech. 

 

WRESTLING

• The Saints picked up a Dual victory over Anamosa on Monday in the Quad held at Lisbon High School.  Congratulations to Coach Chambers and the wrestlers.

• Congratulations to Xavier Wrestling on their victory over CR Washington Thursday night!

• The Saints will travel to Iowa City on Saturday to take part it the Clyde Bean Duals at City High High School.  Wrestling will start at 9:00am.
