GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: January 26, 2023

Wrestling

Congratulations to Coach Chambers and the wrestling team on their win over CR Jefferson last Thursday by a score of 56-12.

Congratulations to Coach Chambers and the Xavier Wrestling team who placed 5th at City High on Saturday. The top performers were: Mac Woltman 4-0, Kale Leymaster 4-1, Adam Cook 4-1, Ronan Thomas 4-1, Wil Hacke 4-1, and Grant Helmle 4-1.

Bowling

Congratulations to Matt Simoneau and Miranda Nolte for having both the game and series high in their meet against Cedar Falls on Friday. Matt’s High Game was 236 and the High Series series was 411. Miranda’s High Game was 179 and High Series was 316.

Choir

Good Luck to Mr. Schroetter, Ms. Diebold, and all members of Xuberance and Xhiliration as they perform Thursday night at Xhibition in the Regis/LaSalle theater beginning at 8:00 PM.

Band

Congratulations Mr. Allard and to Xavier Jazz Band One on their performance at the State Jazz Band Festival in Anamosa!  They earned a Division I rating, the highest rating you can receive!

Boys Swimming

Congratulations to Seth Williams and Brian Foerster who placed 3rd in the 200 Yd Medley Relay at the MVC Championship meet on Saturday!  Congratulations to both Seth and Brian for earning MVC All-Division Honors in the following events:

Seth Williams was Honorable Mention in the 200 Medley Relay, the 100 Yd Butterfly, and the 100 Yd Backstroke. Brian Foerster was Honorable Mention in the 200 Medley Relay, the 200 IM, and the 100 Yd Breaststroke.

Speech

Congratulations to the following 5 groups who received division 1 ratings and will move on to the state contest at CR Washington on February 4th: One Act Play: The Rehearsal, Musical Theater: Hamilton, Radio Broadcasting, Group Improvisation, and Reader's Theater: Snow-Sort of-White.
