GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: May 9, 2024

Girls Track
Congratulations to to the following track athletes who recieved MVC Honors:  Ava VanBerkum - 2nd Team - High Jump, Olivia Neal -Honorable Mention - 100M Hurdles, Olivia Neal, Ava VanBerkum, Sofia Musick and Makenna Huntington - Honorable Mention in the 4x100 Shuttle Hurdle Relay.  

The following girls received All Academic honors: Lucy Oehler, Callie Alberts, Keira Richmond, Ava VanBerkum and Elena Schmit.

Good luck to the Saints as they compete in their state qualifying meet tonight!


Boys Track
Congratulations to the following boys who received MVC Honors: Coleton Beasler-Weber- 2nd Team in Long Jump, Kaleb Wilgenbusch - 2nd Team in the 800M run, Mac Woltman - Honorable Mention in the Discus, Jason Stevenson - Honorable Mention in the Shot Put, Coleton Beasler-Weber - Honorable Mention in the 110M Hurdles, and Colin Stoltenberg - Honorable Mention in the 400M Hurdles.

The following boys received  All Academic Honors: Blaise Pacha, Gunnar Black, Colin Stoltenberg, Marcus Camacho, and Liam Perreault.

Good luck to the Saints as they compete in their state qualifying meet tonight!

Boys Soccer
Congratulations to Coach Takaoka and the boys soccer team on their victory over IC Liberty 1-0 on Thursday! The Saints are 7-4 on the season! The Saints won on the road on Tuesday against Dubuque Wahlert by a score of 5-1! Good Luck to the team as they host CR Prairie on Friday beginning at 7:00pm

Girls Soccer
Congratulations to Coach Johnson and the girls soccer team on their 4-0 win over Clear Creek Amana on Monday improving their winning streak to 4 wins in a row!  The Saints defeated Dubuque Wahlert on Tuesday for "Senior Night" by a score of 5-0 to improve their record to 4-0 in conference play, and 6-3 overall!

Good Luck to the team as they travel to CR Prairie on Friday to take on the Hawks beginning at 7:00pm

Boys Tennis
Congratulations to the following individuals who advanced to State Tennis: Bennett Link placed 2nd and advanced in singles. Charlie LeGrand and Jacob Schmit placed 1st and advanced in doubles and Quincey Johnson and Tyler Jasper placed 2nd and advanced in doubles!

Girls Tennis
Congratulations to Coach Foxhoven and the girls tennis team on their 5-4 win over IC Liberty on Friday! Congratulations to girls tennis Gabi Fleming, (1A Singles  Champion) and Izzy Tobin, (District runnerup) qualifying both for State in singles and also to Avery Link and Ruby Smith (District Champions) in doubles punching their ticket to State!

Congratulations to the following girls who received MVC Honors: 1st Team -Gabi Fleming and Avery Link - 2nd Team- Isabel Tobin and Ruby Smith and Honorable Mention to Olivia Cobb and Gemma Younadam.

The following received All Conference All Academic Honors: Isabel Tobin, Ruby Smith, Avery Link, Molly Lucas, Maria LeGrand, Sophia Rojas-Neria, Olivia Blais, Olivia Cobb and Grace Richmond

Girls Golf
Congratulations to Mehar Julka who placed  3rd at the Golf Divisional on Monday with a score of 75!  

The girls golfers are in action today at Airport National in the CR Prairie Invitational.

Band
Congratulations to Mr. Allard and Xavier High School Bands Concert Band on earning a Division 1 rating at the Iowa High School Music Association State Large Group Festival on Friday!

Choir
Congratulations to Mr. Schroetter and Xavier High School Choirs' Chorale and Voce groups on earning Division 1 (Superior) ratings last Friday in Mt. Vernon at the IHSMA Large Group Festival! Also congrats to Bel Canto Treble Choir on earning two Division 2 ratings and one Division 1 rating for an overall Division 2 (Excellent) rating.

Trap Shooting
Congratulations to the following Trap Shooters who placed in the top 3 this past Saturday - Preston Feuerbach placed 3rd in Doubles and Sarah Ellsworth placed  3rd in Singles/Female
