GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: October 24, 2019

CROSS COUNTRY

Both our Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams will be competing in the District (State Qualifying) meet today hosted by Independance.    The meet will be run at the Independence Mental Health Institute. 2277 Iowa Ave. Independence, IA 50644. Races will start with the Girls at 4pm with the boys to follow.  Good luck Saints!

• State Cross Country will be at Kennedy Park in Fort Dodge on Saturday, November 2nd. 

• Results from the Mississippi Divisional meet last week.  Jack Renning was a medalist finishing 9th overall. Everyone ran season or personal bests at this meet.

FOOTBALL

The ranked 3A Xavier Saints Football team took down Center Point-Urbana last Friday night by a score of 28-0.  Congratulations to Coach Schulte and the entire football team. Overall, the Saints hold a 7-1 record moving into the final week of the regular season.  

• The Saints finish the regular season at home against Marion tomorrow.  Kickoff is set for 7:15.

• Playoff qualifiers will be officially released by midnight after all week 9 games finish

• Playoff brackets are scheduled to be released sometime Saturday morning.

• Xavier Football Playoff T-shirts can be purchased in the Activities Office starting Monday October 28th until 11:30am on Tuesday October 29th.  Cost will be $10 for Short Sleeve  and $15 for Long Sleeve

• Information on post-season football tickets will be communicated early next week. 

Girls Swimming

Xavier Swimmers at CR Kennedy & CR Washington competed Saturday in the MVC Championships held at Linn-Mar.  Congratulations to Lucy pfab for finishing 3rd in the 200 medley relay, and 3rd in the 200 freestyle relay and Maddie Gannon for finishing 3rd in the 200 freestyle relay.  

• Good luck to our Saints swimmers for both CRK and CRW.  They swim in their Regional Meet on Saturday November 2nd at Grinnell College starting at 12:00pm. 

 Volleyball

The Xavier Saints Volleyball team finished 2nd in the MVC tournament held this past Saturday at Prairie High School.  Congratulations to Coach Filer and the entire volleyball team on their highest ever team finish.  

• The Saints will be hosting the 4A Regional Semi-Final on Tuesday 10/29 against Newton @ 7:00pm. 

• The winner will play in the Regional Final on Monday 11/4.

Marching Band

 The marching Saints capped off the season with a great performance at the Metro Marching Band Classic on Monday the 14th at Kingston Stadium.  Congratulations on the great season Marching Saints!

Vocal Music

Congratulations to Mr. Walker and all of our Saints that participated in the Fall Vocal Music Preview this past Monday!  Their hard work is definitely showing in their performances!
