GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: September 28, 2023

Volleyball
Congratulations to Coach Weiland and the volleyball team on their 3-1 win over Cedar Rapids Prairie on Tuesday. The Saints will compete on Saturday at the Waverly Invite.

Football
Congratulations to Coach Schulte and Xavier Football on their 42-0 victory at Clinton last Friday! The Saints host North Scott in a Class 4A showdown at Saints Field tomorrow night.

Girls Swimming
Congratulations to the following swimmers who placed in the top 3 in their events on Tuesday

• Lilly Anctil placed 1st in the 200 Medley Relay, the 200 Yd IM, the 100 Yd Butterfly and the 200 Yd Freestyle
• Maria Trotta placed 1st in the 200 Yd Medley Relay, the 50 Yd Freestyle, the 100 Yd Freestyle and the 400 Yd Freestyle
• Lydia Lueth placed 3rd in the 200 Yd Medley Relay and the 200 Yd Freestyle Relay
• Sarah Foerster placed 1st in the 500 Yd Freestyle and the 400 Yd Freestyle Relay, 2nd in the 200 Yd Freestyle and 3rd in the 200 Yd Freestyle Relay

Boys Golf
Congratulations to Coach Schiltz and the Xavier Boys Golf team as they placed first at the 2nd MVC Divisional event at Airport National Golf Course! Garrett Nurre lead the Saints placing 1st with a score of 61 and 2 shots ahead of the 2nd place finisher!

Cross Country
Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams who both placed 3rd in the CCA Invite on Monday.  Shout out to Mia Deegan who placed 3rd individually for the girls.

Marching Band
Congratulations to Mr. Allard and the Xavier Marching Saints on their 2nd place finish at Linn-Mar last Saturday! Also, congrats on receiving the Best Winds award (brass and woodwinds) and the Best Drum Majors Caption Award for Class 3A!
