GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Weekly Highlights: Feb. 11, 2021

Boys Basketball
The Saints Boys basketball team is 7-9 (5-7 MVC) on the year. They take on Jefferson at home tomorrow and Iowa City High on Saturday in a makeup game.
Next week, the Saints will finish the regular season hosting Linn-Mar on Tuesday and traveling to Wahlert on Thursday.
For the postseason, the Saints will travel to Marion High School for the first round of postseason action on Monday the 22nd at 7:00pm.
Girls Basketball
The Saints Girls basketball team moved to 9-6 (8-5 MVC) on the season. They take on Jefferson, at Jefferson on Friday to finish the regular season.
For the postseason, the Saints earned a first round by. They will take on the winners of Dubuque Wahlert and West Delaware on Saturday the 20th at 7:00pm.
Bowling
State Qualifying bowling is next week. The boys will travel to New Hampton on Monday the 15th, and Girls will travel to Waterloo on Tuesday the 16th for their state qualifying meets. Good luck to all of our bowlers and their coaches.
Swimming
Congratulations to swimmers Brian Foerster and Spencer Kramer on qualifying for the state swim meet which will be this next Saturday at Linn-Mar. Brian qualified for the 500 Free and the 100 breaststroke. Spencer qualified for 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay. Swimming starts at noon.
Also, congratulations to these two on being selected as All- Conference selections.
- Brian: 2nd team in the 500 free and 1st team in the 100 breaststroke.
- Spencer: Honorable mention in 50 Free, 100 Free, and 400 Free Relay.
Speech:
Our Large Group State speech participants had a great contest on Monday! Congratulations to the following groups on their ratings!

Wrestling
Our Saints finished their Dual season with an appearance in the Regional Dual tournament on Wednesday. This is the first time in program history that the team has qualified for this event.
District wrestling will be on Saturday the 13th at Prairie High School. Wrestling starts at noon. Good luck to all of our wrestlers as they battle for their chance to qualify for the state tournament in Des Moines.
Jazz Band:
Jazz Band One received a Division 1 rating at the IHSMA (Virtual) State Jazz Band Festival. Congratulations to Miss Swela and all of our students participating in Jazz band!
