Boys Basketball:

The boys will head to Jefferson on Friday to take on the J-Hawks.  Sitting at 9-9 on the year, the Saints finish their regular season next week on the road against Linn-Mar and then home against Wahlert on Thursday for senior night.  

The boys will host Benton Community on Monday the 21st at 7:00pm for the first round of postseason play.  

Bowling:

The bowling teams hosted Kennedy on Thursday last week.  Congratulations to the following bowlers who had the high series and games at their meet against CR Kennedy:

For the boys - Justin Fulton had the high series with a 380 and high game with a 202

For the girls - Miranda Nolte had a high series with a 440 and high game with a 238

 

Tuesday the 8th, the  boys bowling team defeated Dubuque Hempstead by a score of 2995-2690.  

 

High game went to Jacob Sires with a 235 and the high series with a 437

 

For the Girls, Miranda Nolte had the high game with a 187 and the high series with a  361

 

Bowling will be back in action Friday as they head to Iowa City West.  Next week, Xavier will host the class 2A State Qualifier for boys and girls at May City.  Bowling will start at 9:00am.  

 

Girls Basketball:

The Girls basketball team defeated Prairie 57-43 on Friday last week.  The team also picked up the MVC win over CR Kennedy on Tuesday by a score of 70-62.  Tomorrow, the Saints will finish the regular season at home against Jefferson.  

 

Next week, the postseason run starts.  The ladies received a first round bye on Wednesday the 16th.  Xavier will host the winner of Marion and Mason City on Saturday the 19th.  

 

Girls Assistant Coach, Stephanie Potts, has been selected as one of 8 national finalists for assistant coach of the year.  The award will be honored on Wednesday June 22nd in Des Moines.  Congratulations coach!

 

Band:

The Xavier Catholic School band festival was a big success!  Congratulations to all of our band students and directors for a great evening of music!

 

Robotics:

The Robotics team finished as the 5th ranked team in the Eastern Superqualifier Championship for the State of Iowa. The team also won 3rd place in the Control Award for having excellent Computer Programming, and is advancing to the State Championship on February 19th. Good luck to all members and congratulations on a job well done thus far!

 

Show Choir:

Congratulations to both Xhilaration and Xuberance on a great weekend at “The Music in Motion” competition in Mount Pleasant.  Xhil made the finals and finished 5th overall.  Xub finished 4th overall in the prep division.  Great work from all of our show choir students!

 

This Saturday, our show choirs will be at Benton for the “Touch of Class'' competition.  Xub @ 11:20AM & Xhil @ 6:35PM

 

Xavier’s Xtravaganza is scheduled for Saturday March 5th.  

 

Speech:

Swimming and Diving

Congratulations to the following swimmers who have qualified for the the State swim meet on Saturday and will compete in the following events:

CRK:

Spencer Kramer will compete in the 50 Yd Freestyle, the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Yd Free Relay

 

CRW:

Seth Williams will compete in the 200 Yd Medley Relay and the 100 Fly

Jack Dake in the 200 Free Relay

Brian Foerster in the 200 Yd  Medley Relay and the Breaststroke

Joseph Semelroth will be going as an alternate

 

State Swimming will be at the University of Iowa Rec Center beginning at 12:30PM

 

Wrestling:

The wrestling team defeated Waterloo East last Thursday by a score of  52-30 to wrap up the regular season dual meets.  

 

Our wrestlers will be wrestling at Districts on Saturday in Marshalltown beginning at 9:30AM.  The top finishers will make the Individual State Tournament in Des Moines next week.
