GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Weekly Highlights: Jan. 7, 2021

Boys Basketball

The Saints sit at 3-4 (2-3 MVC) on the year.  On Tuesday they defeated Iowa City West 45-44.  Prior to Christmas Break, the Saints defeated Waterloo East 53-49.  

Tomorrow the Saints travel to Iowa City Liberty.  On Saturday, the boys will host Mt. Vernon in non-conference action.

Next week, the Saints play at Dubuque Sr. on Tuesday, host Iowa City High on Friday, and Prairie on Saturday.  

Girls Basketball

The Saints Girls basketball team 3-3 (3-2 MVC) defeated Iowa City West on Tuesday 50-49.  Prior to Christmas Break, the Saints defeated Waterloo East on Friday the 18th 67-33.  Both of these were MVC opponents.  

Tomorrow night the Saints will take on Iowa City Liberty here at Xavier with varsity starting at 7:30pm.  

Next week the Saints will take on Solon on Monday, Dubuque Sr. on Tuesday and Iowa City High on Friday.   

Wrestling

The Varsity wrestling team won the Zimmerman Invitational at Maquoketa on Saturday the 2nd.  Individual champions were Christan Stanek, Caelen Shannon, Ivan Thomas, and Ryan Volk.

On Thursday the 17th of December, the Saints defeated Waterloo West in their MVC dual 51-30.

On Saturday December 19th, Xavier hosted the Doug Philipp Duals.  The team ended up 3rd place.

Tonight the Saints will travel to Dubuque Sr. for their MVC dual with the Rams.  On Saturday, the wrestlers will travel over to Linn-Mar for the 55th Linn-Mar Duals.
