Boys and Girls Track
Congratulations to all of our Saints that qualified and participated in the State Co-Ed Track and Field Championships last week in Des Moines. The Saints qualified 11 boys events and 5 girls events.
A big congratulations to the top place finisher Emma Arnold. She finished 8th place overall in class 3A in the 400m hurdles with a school record time of 1:07.32!
Boys Soccer
The Saints earned a first round bye in postseason play. On Monday, they hosted and defeated Central DeWitt 7-0. Yesterday (Wednesday) the Saints defeated Dubuque Wahlert in the Substate Final 3-2. They earned a berth in the State Tournament next week in Des Moines. They will be the number one seed and will take on Marion at 2:30pm on Tuesday in the 2A State Quarterfinals.
Girls Soccer
The Saints finished the regular season 11-5 with a 10-0 victory over Western Dubuque on Tuesday.
After earning a first round bye in the postseason, the Saints will take on the winner of Central DeWitt and Clinton on June 2nd. Game time is set for 6:00pm.
Boys Tennis
Congratulations to our Boys Tennis players earning All-Conference MVC Honors.
Boys First Team: Brady Horstmann (Unanimous)
Boys Second Team: Matthew Schmit, Declan Coe
Boys Honorable Mention: Hugh Courter, Ethan Shimak
The Boys defeated Ballard 5-0 in the Substate Final on Saturday. That same day, the Saints defeated Boone 5-0 in the State Quarterfinals. They now move on to the Team final four on Tuesday June 1st at Waveland Tennis Courts in Des Moines. As they #1 team, the take on Spencer in the Semi-Finals.
Singles and Doubles will take place Friday and Saturday at Byrnes Park in Waterloo. Play starts at 9:30am.
Trenton Link will play Kaden Wingert from LeMars in the first round of Singles.
The Doubles team of Horstmann & Schmit earned the #1 Seed and will take on Upah/Watson from Ballard in the first round.
The Doubles team of Coe & Courter will play the team of Fair/Freiburger from Western Dubuque in the first round.
Girls Tennis
Congratulations to the Girls Tennis team defeating Independence 5-0 on Saturday to qualify for the Team State Tournament. The girls picked up wins from Miyako Coffey, Courtney Carstensen, Gabby Flynn, Ella Tallett, and Avery Link.
Also congratulations to our Girls Tennis players earning All-Conference MVC Honors.

State Singles and Doubles will be June 2nd and 3rd at Byrnes Park in Waterloo. The State Team will be playing on June 5th at Prairie Ridge Sports Tennis Complex in Ankeny. Play starts at 8:30am.
Girls Golf
Congratulations to Kaitlin Hotchkiss and Meera Julka on qualifying for the class 3A girls State Golf Tournament as individuals. On Monday, Kaitlin shot an 86 and tied for 1st place. She ended up 2nd overall on card back. Meera shot a 90 to be the 5th place overall individual. As a team, Xavier ended with a 410 for fourth place.
Tuesday and Wednesday (the first and second), Kaitlin and Meera will compete at River Valley Golf Course in Adel. They will play at 9:00am on Tuesday and 8:30am on Wednesday.
Baseball
Baseball opened their season on Monday and Tuesday at the Metro Baseball Tournament held at Prospect Meadows. Xavier ended up 2-1 with a 10-0 win over Mount Vernon and a 11-0 win over Washington. They will open conference play on Friday against Cedar Falls at home.
Softball
Softball opened their season on Tuesday with two wins over Iowa City West 7-0 and 14-3. They are scheduled to play Prairie tonight at Prairie. Saturday, the Saints host Marion in a JV/V non-conference double header. JV will start at noon and varsity will follow.
