GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Weekly Highlights: Oct. 1, 2020

Boys & Girls Cross Country: 

On Thursday last week, both Saints teams had a lot of PRs and ran well at Seminole Valley.  The boys finished 5th and the girls finished 7th.

Congratulations to both our boys and girls cross country teams on a great meet Monday at CCA.  Medalists (top 25) for the girls team were Lizzy Schmitt (10th), Mary Clare Bean (18th), & Abby Horstmann (21st)

Medalists for the boys team were Randall Kinner (8th), Bryor Hansel (17th), & Brady Horstmann (20th)

The teams will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to West Delaware.  

Boys Golf: 

Congratulations to the Boys golf team.  They won their divisional meet Monday and won the Valley Divisional Title for the year.  Charlie Allen was the overall Valley Champion and Player of the Year, Clayton Nurre was 3rd, and Matthew Schmit was 8th.  

Xavier will host the 4A District Golf Meet on Monday at Elmcrest Country Club.  Play starts at 9:00am with their chance to get to the state championship held on October 9th and 10th. 

Swimming:

Great work out of our ladies in the pool on Tuesday.

For CRW:

• Lucy Pfab - 1st 200 Yd Medley Relay, 1st in 200 Yd Free, 1st in 100 Yd Breaststroke, 2nd in 200 Yd Free Relay

• Ellanor Morrissey - 2nd  in 200 Yd Free Relay

For CRK:

• Casey Gannon: 2nd in 200 medley relay, 1st in 200 IM, 3rd in 500 freestyle, 3rd in 400 freestyle relay
• Anne Baumann: 2nd in 200 medley relay, 3rd in 200 free relay, 2nd in 400 free relay
• Maria Trotta: 2nd in 200 medley relay, 1st in 50 free, 2nd in 100 free, 2nd in 200 free relay
• Meera julka: 3rd in 200 free relay, 2nd in 400 free relay

 Volleyball

The top ranked Saints defeated Waterloo East 3-0 on Tuesday and Jefferson last Thursday in their rescheduled MVC matchup.

The Saints will be on the road next week Tuesday to finish our Valley play at Dubuque Hempstead.  Varsity play starts at 7:00pm. 

Football:

The top 5 ranked Saints defeated Oskaloosa 45-7 last Friday.  They move to 5-0 on the year and 3-0 in the district.  They travel to Grinnell tomorrow with Varsity starting at 7:30pm to play for the district title. 

Next week the Saints will take on Benton Community at home starting at 7:30pm.
