Boys & Girls Cross Country:
Our Cross Country teams traveled to Waterloo for the MVC Supermeet on Thursday last week. The boys team was led by Randall Kinner with a time of 17:21 and the girls were led by Alma Cosgrove with a time of 23:00
Today, both teams head to Iowa City Kicker Soccer Complex for the Valley Divisional meet. Running starts at 3:55pm today.
Next week, the Saints will run in the 3A State Qualifying meet at Decorah. This meet will be run at the Oneota Golf Course.
Boys Golf:
Congratulations to our boys golfers who earned All-Metro honors from this past season.
1st team: Charlie Allen
2nd team: Quincey Johnson and Garrett Nurre
Honorable Mention: Gran Allen and Ryan Schmit
Football:
The 4A #2 ranked Saints (6-1, 3-0) defeated Clear Creek Amana last week 34-7 on homecoming. The Saints are now in control of District 4. Tomorrow, the Saints will travel to Newton. Varsity kickoff is set for 7:30pm.
Next week, the team will be on the road at Oskaloosa to finish the regular season. Varsity kickoff is set for 7:30pm.
Marching Band:
This past Saturday, the Marching Saints earned their 9th consecutive Division 1 rating at the State Marching Band Festival!
The Metro Marching Band Classic was scheduled for this past Monday. Due to inclement weather, the Classic was moved to next Monday the 18th at Linn-Mar Stadium.
Swimming:
Congratulations to the following swimmers on their top 3 finishes at their meet on Tuesday:
CRW:
Lucy Pfab placed 1st in the 200 Yd Medley Relay and the 200 Yard Freestyle and was 2nd in the 100 Yd Freestyle and the 200 Yd Freestyle
Ava Challenger placed 3rd in diving.
This week, both teams will compete in the MVC Conference Swimming & Diving meet. Diving will be Thursday the 14th (today) at 5:00pm. Swimming will be Saturday the 16th at 12:00pm. Both will be hosted by Kennedy.
Volleyball:
Xavier hosted the MVC Championship pool on Tuesday. Teams that participated were Kennedy, Cedar Falls, Iowa City Liberty, and Xavier. The Saints went 2-1 on the night defeating both Cedar Falls and Kennedy.
Next week, the Saints will start postseason play. They earned a first round bye for Tuesday which means they will host the winner of Newton and Des Moines Hoover on Thursday the 21st at 7:00pm.
Vocal Music:
The Fall vocal music preview will be on Monday the 18th at 8:00pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
