GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Weekly Highlights: September 8, 2022

Boys & Girls Cross Country: 

Congratulations to the girls’ and boys' cross country teams on their finishes at the Mt Mercy challenge last Friday. The boys placed 3rd and the girls placed 1st! This was the first meet team title for the girls since 2009. The girls were led by Emma Arnold and Nora Maloney both placing in the top 5 and Marcus Camacho led the boys. 

Congratulations to the girl's cross country team on placing 4th at the Grinnell meet on Tuesday.

Boys Golf: 

Congratulations to the boy's golf team as they placed 3rd at the CRANDIC Meet. Ryan Schmidt led the team by placing 1st overall shooting a 73.

Swimming:

Congratulations to the swimmers on placing first in their meet on Tuesday! Casey Gannon placed 1st in 200 Yard Medley Relay, 200 Yard individual medley, 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, and 100 Yd Breaststroke. Maria Trotta placed 1st in 200 Yard Medley Relay, 50 Yd Freestyle 100 Yd Freestyle, and 400 Yd Freestyle Relay.  Lilly Anctil placed 1st in 200 Yd Medley Relay and 1st in 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.  Meera Julka placed 1st in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay and Sarah Foerster 1st in the 500 Yard Freestyle. 

Volleyball
Congratulations to Coach Filer and the volleyball team who took 1st place at the Washington Invite on Saturday posting a 7-0 record! 

Congratulations to Coach Filer and the volleyball team on defeating #1 ranked 5A Cedar Falls on Tuesday by a score of 3-0! 

Football:

Congratulations to Coach Schulte and the football team on their 44-7 win over West Delaware on Friday! The Saints will host Wahlert Catholic tomorrow night at Saints Field.

Marching Band

The marching band did a great job in their first halftime performance last Friday! Their first competition is the Linn-Mar Marching Invite on September 24th!
