Today was a refreshing day for the soul as we heard of all the joyful reports from teachers as they checked in with students! It was great to see so many smiling faces again and give our Saints an opportunity to reconnect virtually. We are looking forward to seeing all the amazing things that these classes will yield. LEARNING LIVESTREAM VIDEO FROM EARLIER TODAY Thank you to all parents who joined us for our livestream with Ms. Olson earlier today as she answered questions regarding learning opportunities. Remember that you can view the recorded version here: XHS Resource Center for COVID-19 Outbreak REGISTERING FOR COURSES Remember that all students should register for their courses. Even if a student was in a particular course prior to Spring Break (and that course is offered AND they wish to continue in that course), they must register for that course again using the link they received from Mr. Miller yesterday (and was in yesterday’s parent update): Register for Learning Opportunities Registering for the courses indicates to the teacher that your student will be continuing to work with them during the time that school is closed. NOTE: Four courses were added from yesterday’s original list - students may edit their options to include these:
Note: Teachers are continuing to finalize the course schedule. GRADING & CREDITS All schools in Iowa are closed but even so we want students to learn. If a student was enrolled in US History (a required class) prior to Spring Break, their options are as follows:
DUAL CREDIT While we are still receiving guidelines on dual credit from the respective universities/colleges, high school and college credit can still be earned. More information will be shared once it becomes available. The College Board has made accommodations for students to take the AP exams from home. More information on this will also be shared and Xavier AP teachers will be working with students to prepare them while school is closed. |
