The Xavier Booster Club, after much collaboration with Xavier High School Administration and former XBC Golf Outing sponsors plans to hold the 2020 Xavier Booster Club Golf Outing on Monday, August 10. Please review the items below which outlines the purpose for the annual golf outing and the changes made to the traditional agenda in order to support social distancing.
What date has the Xaiver Booster Club Golf Outing been rescheduled to? The XBC Golf Outing is August 10
th, 2020 at Elmcrest Country Club. This date was chosen specifically to ensure time to plan a safe tournament, give people time to determine if they felt comfortable playing in the tournament and host it before school starts. The plan is to use both the morning and afternoon sessions and allow golfers to choose a time that best fits their schedule and comfort in being out in the public.
Why is Xavier Booster Club hosting a Golf Outing this year considering COVID? The XBC Golf Outing raises almost 30% of the XBC funds for the allocation to over 40+ Xavier activities. The funds raised by this event are critical to provide support for our students, teachers and coaches.
Each year we raise nearly $30,000 in concessions. With the impact of COVID we have lost nearly 20% of concession profits due to no spring or summer concessions. We are also unsure if we will be able to have concessions this fall and winter. The potential loss of football concessions will have a big impact in our support to Xavier.
How will you provide a safe experience for the Xavier Booster Club Golf Outing? XBC has invested in using a technology-based hands-free website and app,
GolfStatus. This website and app will enable necessary social distancing among players and volunteers.
GolfStatushosts nearly 5,000 non-profit golf tournaments yearly and has the experience to allow participants to do everything necessary through their site including:
Registration – for teams and individuals
Sponsorship Selections
Scheduling
Payment
Hole assignments
Mulligan Purchases
Scoring
What is Elmcrest Country Club doing to ensure the safety and health of its guests? In keeping with the most recent guidelines and recommendations, the following measures have been implemented at Elmcrest Country Club
:
Hand sanitizer stations are placed throughout the Club facilities for member, guest and employee use.
Public spaces and high touch items, including doorknobs/handles, restrooms, tables, and chairs are sanitized hourly.
All employees are screened using contactless thermometers upon arrival each day.
Masks are worn by employees in the dining areas and other locations where closer contact occurs.
Member charge is encouraged. Credit cards will be accepted and will be sanitized before and after use. Cash will not be accepted at this time.
Will you have a lunch and dinner this year? Box lunches will be handed out to all participants. There will be no dinner or program at the end of the day.
Can I still participate if I don’t want to use Golf Status’ website and app? XBC will still accept the traditional registration form and payment. On the day of the event, we will make sure you know your hole assignment and can log your scores for you and your team (if needed).
How do I gain access to the Golf Status App? The Golf Status App can be downloaded on iphone and android phones. Once downloaded, you will need to create an account and password. Once this has been completed, you will be able to select “23
rd Annual Xavier Booster Club Golf Outing” as your event. Selecting this event, you will have access to the scoring, hole assignment, leader board, and etc.
