Xavier has hired Brandon Schiltz to serve the school's new varsity boys golf head coach. Coach Schiltz comes to Xavier after serving as head boys golf coach at Waterloo Columbus Catholic since 2019.
He is a native of Algona, Iowa, where he competed on the boys golf team for Bishop Garrigan High School and helped lead the Golden Bears to four Top-5 finishes at the state golf meet and two state titles (2010, 2012).
He is an active parishioner at our partner parish of St. Patrick Catholic Church Cedar Rapids, IA and also serves as a Supply Base Manager for John Deere.
Coach Schiltz will be taking over for Coach Tim O'Brien who retired following the 2022 season. The XHS Boys Golf team advanced to the Class 4A state golf meet for the eighth time last season (where the Saints placed 6th overall as a team), broke three team school records and six individual records for scores at various courses.
Please help us welcome Coach Schiltz to the Xavier family!
