Christmastide, commonly called the Twelve Days of Christmas, lasts 12 days, from December 25 to January 5.
Though society often pushes us to celebrate the commercial aspects of Christmas early, at Xavier we do not celebrate Christmas until the celebration of Mass following sunset on Christmas Eve, where we come together in our Parishes and celebrate the birth of Jesus as an extended Catholic family. Our building is closed around the Christmas season so that we can prepare our hearts for this sacred time and spend it in celebration with our loved ones. Upon return to school after the New Year, we continue the Christmas celebration at Xavier with the lighting of our Christmas trees. Each Community prepares a tree with all Houses represented and, united as one in God’s love, we give thanks for the gift of our faith.
