Dear Xavier Seniors and Parents,
As the excitement over graduation builds, we’d like to do all we can to make it a stress-free and enjoyable day. Please take a moment to read just a few reminders:
Commencement Seating and Arrival:
The Graduation Ceremony begins Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Ron Thillen Gymnasium.
Doors will open for parents and other guests at 1:00 p.m.
Graduates are to arrive no later than 1:30 p.m. and should go directly to the Regis-LaSalle Theatre. Only graduates are permitted in the theatre. Parents and guests are asked to please remain in the gym.
Parent seats (two chairs on the floor) are reserved. Your students’ names will be on the chairs. While the chairs are arranged alphabetically, we rotate the starting letter each year from front to back.
A map of the gym, for your reference can be found here.
Parking is available in the main lots, in the lane directly in front of the school, on 42nd Street. Please do not park in the faculty (west) lot.
Post Commencement Gatherings:
Following the ceremony, graduates will process through the first floor. It is important that no one follows them through the halls. Graduates will exit at the “X” / main entrance to meet you for pictures outdoors.
Diplomas will be available for students who have met all of their responsibilities.
Diplomas will be held for all students who have not met all of their responsibilities. Students have been aware of most of these responsibilities for the past two weeks. All were reminded today about the most recent fines.
Xavier High School Decorum
As I mentioned at Baccalaureate, it is very important that every student have his/her name heard without the distraction of a reaction to the previous student. Prior to conferring of diplomas, we will announce, “Please hold your applause until all have received their diplomas.” I thank you in advance for honoring that request and for sharing this message with all relatives and guests who attend graduation with you.
Congratulations and Thank You
On behalf of Xavier High School, I want to express my sincere gratitude for all you as parents have done to help us make these four years challenging, productive and enjoyable for your sons and daughters. The Class of 2022 has left a legacy at Xavier and joins 23 other graduating classes as students who have prepared themselves well for the challenges that lie ahead and to make the world a better place.
Congratulations to the Class of 2022 and congratulations to you, their parents!
Sincerely,
Angela Olson
