GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: April 17, 2025

Girls Tennis
The Girls Tennis team beat CR Washington on April 10th by a score of 9-0. The
Saints won two matches on Saturday, April 12th. The Saints beat IC West in the
morning match by a score of 6-3 and beat IC Liberty in the afternoon match by a
score of 9-0. The team beat CR Prairie on April 15th by a score of 9-0. The Saints
have a current record of 5-0 and play again on Monday, April 21st @ West Des
Moines Dowling. Match time is 3:30 p.m.

Boys Tennis
The Boys Tennis team beat CR Washington on April 10th by a score of 9-0. The
Saints won two matches on Saturday, April 12th. The Saints beat IC West in the
morning match by a score of 6-3 and beat IC Liberty in the afternoon match by a
score of 7-2. The team has a current record of 4-1 and plays again on Tuesday,
April 22nd against CR Jefferson. Match time is 4:00 p.m. at the Veterans
Memorial Tennis Center.

Girls Golf Team
The Girls Golf team hosted an MVC Quad on April 10th @ Twin Pines G.C. The
Saints won the meet with a total score of 161. Mehar Julka led the Saints with a
score of 36, placing 3rd in the meet. Hayley Morris placed 4th with a 40 and
Evelyn Bern placed 5th with a 41. The Saints won the IC West Triangular held on
April 15th @ Finkbine G.C. Hayley Morris was the meet co-medalist with a score
of 39. The team plays again on Thursday, April 17th hosting Clear Creek-Amana
@ Twin Pines G.C. Meet time is 2:40 p.m.

Boys Soccer
The Boys Soccer team beat CR Jefferson on April 15th by a score of 8-0. The team
has a current record of 4-0 and plays again on Tuesday, April 22nd @ Iowa City
High. Match time is 6:00 p.m.

Girls Soccer
The Girls Soccer team beat CR Jefferson on April 15th by a score of 3-1. The team
has a current record of 2-1 and is ranked 3rd in this week’s IGHSAU 1A Poll. The
Saints play again on Tuesday, April 22nd hosting Iowa City High @ Saints Field.
Match time is 6:45 p.m.

Track and Field
The Girls and Boys Track and Field teams competed on April 12th @ the Marion
Invitational. Congratulations to the following Saints:

• Mia Deegan won the 1500
•  Lance Muggenberg won the 1600
• The Sprint Medley won with Cael Stutzman, Carson Mahoney, Mason
• Meyer & Kaleb Wilgenbusch
• The 4x800 placed 2nd with Maeve Ainsworth, Deegan, Adeline Robson &
• Lindzey Jeffrey
• The Distance Medley placed 2nd with Max Dougherty, Meyer, Cody Mason
• & Muggenberg
• Adeline Robson placed 2nd in the 800
• Ellie Walz placed 3rd in the Discus
• Evan Meyer placed 3rd in the 400
• Calvin Hacke placed 3rd in the 100 High Hurdles
• Dylan Lang placed 3rd in the 800
• Mason Meyer placed 3rd in the 200

The Girls and Boys Track teams competed in the CR Prairie Invitational on April
15th. Congratulations to the following Saints:

• Max Dougherty won the High Jump

• Olivia Neal placed 2nd in the 100 Hurdles
• The Shuttle Hurdle Relay place 2nd with Neal, Musick, Ainsley Foxen &

• The 4x800 placed 2nd with Andrew Allen, Lance Muggenberg, Cody Mason
