GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: December 12, 2019

DANCE TEAM

Congratulations to our Saints Dance Team on their success this past weekend at the ISDTA Championships in Des Moines.  They finished as STATE CHAMPIONS in their Pom routine. They also finished 2nd in their Hip Hop and 3rd in their Lyrical routines.  Congratulations ladies on their success this past weekend.  

BAND & CHOIR

• Congrats to our Xavier Saints that participated and represented the Saints well at the NEIBA District Honor Band last Saturday at Oelwein High School.

• Christmas with Xavier is this Sunday @ 5pm in the Ron Thillen Gymnasium. Come check out our extremely talented Saints involved in band and choir and help get you into the Christmas Spirit!

BOYS BASKETBALL

• Congrats to Coach Freeman and the entire Boys Basketball Team on their 50-35 victory over Waverly-Shell Rock this past Saturday in their non-conference action.  

• The Saints now sit at 2-0 on the season. 

• The Saints will open MVC action tomorrow in their Boy/Girl Varsity double header at Linn-Mar.  Varsity Boys’ tip is set for 7:30pm. Good luck Saints!

GIRLS BASKETBALL

• Your Xavier Saints Girls Basketball Team took down Cedar Rapids Jefferson in their MVC opener last Friday 73-32! 

• This Tuesday evening the Saints also took down Dubuque Wahlert 51-40.  Congrats to Coach Lilly and the entire Girls Basketball Team.

• The Saints are now 2-2, 2-0 in the MVC

• The Saints will be in action again tomorrow night as they host Linn-Mar in a Boy/Girl Varsity Double Header. Girls are set to tip-off at 6:00pm! Good luck Saints!

BOYS & GIRLS BOWLING

• Your Xavier Saints Boys took down Cedar Rapids Kennedy @ the CR Bowling Center last Friday. 

  • Boys won 3056-2665 with Dale Weaver having high game & series. 

  • Dale Weaver also set a School Record by recording the first 300 in school history!  Congratulations Dale!

• Good luck to all of our Saints Bowlers today as they travel to take on Linn-Mar at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center starting at 3:15pm.

• Also good luck to our Girls Bowling Team Saturday as they participate in the CRP Invite at Lancer Lanes starting at 1:00pm

BOYS SWIMMING

• Xavier has swimmers participating at CR Kennedy, CR Washington, and CR Jefferson swim programs. 

• Congratulations to the following swimmers on their top 3 finishes in the following events:

• For CRW – Seth Williams

  • 3rd in the 400 Yd Freestyle Relay 

• For CRK -Spencer Kramer

  • 1st in the 100 Yd Freestyle

  • 2nd in the 200 Medley Relay, the 200 IM and the 200 Freestyle Relay

• Good luck to Boys Swimming (CRJ @ Holmes Jr High @ 11:30AM & CRK @ Marshalltown @12:00PM) on Saturday. 

WRESTLING

• Good luck to Coach Chambers and our Xavier Saints Wrestlers as they travel to Dubuque Senior for a 7:00pm scheduled MVC Dual.

• Also good luck to the Saints as they compete in the Mount Vernon Wrestling Invite this Saturday with matches starting at 10:00am
