GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: December 19, 2024

Basketball
The 4A 10th ranked Girls Basketball team beat CR Jefferson on Friday, December 13th by a score of 50 to 33. The team beat Waterloo West on Tuesday, December 17th by a score of 86 to 47. The Saints have a record of 3-1 in the MVC and an overall record of 5-2. 

The Boys Basketball team beat CR Jefferson on Friday, December 13th by a score of 70 to 39. The Saints have a record of 2-1 in the MVC and an overall record of 3- 1. 

The Basketball teams play again on Friday, December 20th in an MVC doubleheader at CR Washington. The Girls game begins at 6:00 followed by the Boys game at 7:30 p.m. 

Boys Wrestling
The Boys Wrestling team beat IC Liberty on Thursday, December 12th by a score of 48 to 26. 
Congratulations to the following Saints who won their match at Liberty: 

• Elliott Gnewuch, Max Valenta, Jack Foster, Kale Leymaster, Germaine Ngoma, Marek McNamara, Dane Melchior, Dusty Cook, & Jean Ngoma 

The Saints compete again on Thursday, December 19th in a dual at Ottumwa. Match time is 6:30 p.m. The team competes on Saturday, December 21st in the Bill Van Horn Invitational at Pella. Meet time is 9:30 a.m. 

Girls Wrestling
The Girls Wrestling team competed in an MVC dual at IC Liberty on Thursday, December 12th. Congratulations to the following Saints who won their match at Liberty: 

• Elliana Casey & Katie Pilcher 

The team competed at the CR Kennedy Invitational on Monday, December 16th. 
Congratulations to the following Saints: 

• Joey Hines placed 5th at 115 
• Aly Flack placed 5th at 145 

The Girls Wrestling team competes again on Thursday, December 19th in the Battle of Waterloo at Young Arena. Meet time is 9:00 a.m. The Saints compete on Saturday, December 21st in the Bubba Randles Tournament at CR Prairie. Meet time is 9:00 a.m. 

Bowling
The Bowling teams competed in an MVC dual with Waterloo West on Thursday, December 12th. Alex Conrad led the boys with a high game of 223 and a high series of 364. Chloe Strunk led the girls with a high game of 223 and a high series of 391. The Saints compete again on Thursday, December 19th in an MVC dual with CR Washington at May City Bowl. Meet time is 3:00 p.m. The Boys Bowling team competes on Saturday, December 21st in the CR Prairie Baker Tournament at Cedar Creek Lanes. Meet time is 1:00 p.m. 

Boys Swimming 
CR Washington hosted Bettendorf on Tuesday, December 17th. Remy Barton placed 2nd in the 200 Medley Relay, 100 Butterfly, 500 Free, & the 400 Free Relay.
