GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: November 7, 2019

Band:

Congrats to the following Saints that were selected for the NEIBA Honor Band:

• Juliana (Trombone), Briana (Flute), Emma (Trumpet), Faith (Alto Sax), Ava (Tenor Sax), Randall (Percussion), and Katherine (Bari Sax).  

• They will perform a concert on December 7th in Oelwein. 

CROSS COUNTRY

Congratulations to  Xavier Saints Hannah Denman and Jack Renning on competing in the State Cross Country meet in Fort Dodge this past saturday.  Hannah finished her career as a 2x state qualifier. Jack finished his career as the first 4x state qualifier for Xavier boys cross country. 

• Congratulations to the following Saints on their All-District and All-Metro Honors:

  • 1st Team All-Metro: Jack Renning

Football

The Saints football team finished their season 8-2 after falling to North Scott in the first round of playoffs last Friday.  Congratulations on a great season Coach Schulte and the football team.  

Girls Swimming

Congratulations to Anne Bauman, Casey Gannon, Maddie Gannon, and Lucy Pfab on qualifying for The Iowa High School State Swimming and Diving Meet is held November 8-9 at the Marshalltown YMCA/YWCA. 

• Anne: 200 Medley Relay, 200 IM, 100 Backstroke

• Casey: 200 Medley Relay, 500 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke

• Maddie: 200 Medley Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay

• Lucy: 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay

Robotics

Congrats to the Robotics team on their 1st place finish Saturday in Center-point. The team competed against 11 other teams and currently hold the season high score for the league.  The team is currently ranked #10 in the world. Great work Saints!

 Volleyball

Your #2 ranked 4A Xavier Saints Volleyball Team took down the Gilbert “Tigers” in the Regional Final Monday night in an impressive 3-0 sweep, advancing to the state tournament for the 4th consecutive year! Congrats to Coach Filer and the entire Xavier Saints Volleyball Team!

• • Xavier will take on Western Dubuque in the 1st Round of the IGHSAU State Volleyball Tournament Tuesday at the U.S. Cellular Center at 4:00pm on court #2

    • 4A State Semi-Final is Thursday, November 14th @ Noon

    • 4A State Final is Friday, November -15th @ 12:15pm

  • Volleyball Advanced Ticket Sales

    • Tickets will be available through www.Ticketmaster.com  Through Ticketmaster, volleyball fans will have the ability to purchase their tickets in advance and have them securely delivered via email to print at home, or through mobile delivery to their phones.  Mail and UPS delivery options will not be made available.

    • General Admission tickets will still be available at the U.S. Cellular Center Box Office for $10 throughout the week.

Fall Musical

Our fall musical "Beauty and the Beast" will be performed in the Regis/LaSalle Theatre on  November 15th & 16th at 7:00PM and November 17th @ 2:00PM. Tickets will go on sale Monday, November 4th, in the Activities Office from 7:30am-3:00pm daily. Cost is $10 for Adults and $6 for students K-12 -Senior Citizens $6
