GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: September 12, 2024

Football 
The Football team is ranked 5th in this week’s Des Moines Register 4A Poll. The
Saints beat 3A #1 ranked Williamsburg on September 6th by a score of 29 to 27.
The team is now 2-0 on the season and play again on Friday, September 13th at
Western Dubuque (1-1). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

Volleyball
The 4A #1 ranked Volleyball team won the Warrior Invitational hosted by CR
Washington on Saturday, September 7th. The Saints went 6-0 on the day beating
the following teams all by scores of 2-0: Oskaloosa, CR Jefferson, Davenport
Central, Dubuque Senior, CR Kennedy and Solon. Congratulations to Coach
Weiland and all members of the team on an outstanding tournament! The Saints
are now 8-0 on the season and compete again on Saturday, September 14th at
the Lancer Invitational hosted by North Scott. Matches begin at 8:30 a.m.

Boys Golf
The Boys Golf team is ranked 10th in this week’s IHSAA 4A Poll. The Saints placed
2nd at the CR Prairie Quadrangular held at Airport National G.C. on Thursday,
September 5th. Pranay Monga was the meet runner-up with a score of 65. Grant
Allen placed 3rd with a 66. Jacob Schmit and Jack Pauly tied for 5th each shooting
a 67. The team won the Cedar Falls Quadrangular held on Monday, September
9th at Pheasant Ridge G.C. Pranay Monga was the meet medalist with a one
under par 35. Grant Allen and Jack Pauly tied for 2nd each shooting an even par
36. The team competes again in an MVC Divisional on Monday, September 16th
at Finkbine G.C. Meet time is 9:30 a.m.

Cross Country
The Cross Country teams competed on Saturday, September 7th in the Linn-Mar
Invitational. The Boys team placed 7th out of 9 teams. Andrew Allen led the
Saints by finishing in 30th place followed by Kaleb Wilgenbusch placing 42nd. The
Girls team placed 4th out of 9 teams. Mia Deegan led the Saints placing 13th.
Sofia Musick placed 26th and Cayleigh O’Brien placed 27th. The Cross Country
teams compete again on Thursday, September 12th in the CR Invitational. Meet
time is 3:45 p.m. at Seminole Valley Park.

Girls Swimming
Members of the CR Kennedy (CO-OP) competed in a dual on September 5th at
Pleasant Valley. Congratulations to the following Saints who won events:

• Lilly Anctil & Sarah Foerster in the 200 Medley Relay & the 400 Free Relay
• Lilly Anctil in the 50 Free

The team competed in a duel meet on September 10th at CR Washington.

• Congratulations to the following Saints who won events:
• Lilly Anctil in the 50 Free, the 100 Free, and the 200 Free Relay

Girls CO-OP team members compete again on Thursday, September 12th. CR
Kennedy is at Marshalltown and CR Washington is at Burlington. Both meets
begin at 6:00 p.m.
