GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Weekly Highlights: January 6, 2022

Boys Basketball:
The boys basketball team currently sits at 4-3 (2-2) on the season. They will host Iowa City Liberty on Friday at 7:30 and then travel to Mount Vernon on Saturday with the varsity scheduled to start at 6:00pm.
Next week, the boys will be home on Tuesday against Dubuque Sr. and then on the road Friday at Iowa City High.
Bowling:
The bowling team took on Jefferson last week Friday. Congratulations to our top finishers:

Girls

Tomorrow, both the boys and the girls will take on Waterloo East in a home match at May City Bowl. Bowling starts at 3:45pm.
Next week, bowling will be on the road at Dubuque Sr. on Tuesday and then home against Waterloo West on Friday.
Girls Basketball:
Coach Lilly and the Girls basketball team sit at 7-3 (4-0) on the year. They will take on Iowa City Liberty on Friday at Liberty. Varsity tip is scheduled for 7:30pm.
Next week, the girls will be on the road on Tuesday against Dubuque Sr. and then at home on Friday against Iowa City High.
Jazz Band:
Good luck to Ms. Swehla and members of the Jazz Band as they compete at the NEIBA District Band Festival at Kennedy on Saturday
Show Choir:
Tonight is the Xhibition for both Xub and Xil. They will be in the Theater at 7:00pm for a first viewing of their competition season.
Swimming and Diving
On Saturday, our swimmers for Kennedy and Washington went head to head. Here are the results for those that placed in the top 3 in their events:

Spencer Kramer placed 3rd in the 200 Yd Medley Relay and the 200 Yd Freestyle Relay
CRW -
Joe Semelroth placed 2nd in the 200 Yd Medley Relay and the 400 Yd Freestyle Relay, and placed 3rd in the 100 Yd Breaststroke
Jack Dake placed 2nd in the 200 Yd Medley Relay, the 200 Yd Freestyle Relay and the 100 Yd Breaststroke
Seth Williams placed 1st in the 400 Yd Freestyle Relay and was 2nd in the 200 Yd IM , the 100 Yd Backstroke
Brian Foerster placed 1st in the 500 Yd Freestyle and the 100 Yd Breaststroke and placed 2nd in the 200 Yd Freestyle Relay
Tommy Reinwart placed 1st in the 200 Yd Freestyle Relay and 2nd in the 400 Yd Freestyle Relay

Saturday, the varsity wrestling team hosted the 24th annual Doug Philipp Duals.

Tuesday January 5th, the wrestling team defeated Waterloo West 44-28. They take on Dubuque Senior tonight here at Xavier with varsity starting at 7:00pm.
Saturday, the Saints will be at the Linn-Mar duals. Wrestling starts at 9:00am. Next Thursday, they will be on the road to Kennedy. The varsity match starts at 7:00pm.
Upcoming Events:
Senior Night for girls basketball is Friday January 21st.
Cheer Camp Minis performance is Friday January 21st during the 6:00pm game.
Dance team will be performing during halftime of the varsity contest on January 25th followed by an awards ceremony for their Character Counts Team of the Year award.
Future Saints Night for girls basketball is Friday January 28th.
