Band and Choir:
Congratulations to our Vocal and Instrumental music programs on the great showing at Large Group Contest last Friday. Xavier Chorale received a Division 1, Women’s Chorale received a Division 2, and Band received a Division 1 rating.
Boys Soccer:
Boys soccer defeated Waterloo West on Friday last week 2-1. On Tuesday, they defeated Dubuque Senior 3-2. The boys sit 7-4 overall on the year. Tomorrow, the boys will host Kennedy with varsity starting at 7:15pm. It is also senior night for boys.
Next week, the boys will travel to Iowa City West to finish the regular season.
Postseason assignments have been sent out. The boys will host Charles City on the 19th at 6:30pm.
Girls Soccer:
Girls soccer defeated Dubuque Senior 10-0 on Tuesday this week. They will travel to Kennedy tomorrow and will host Iowa City West next week Tuesday to finish the regular season.
For the postseason, the girls received a first round bye. They will play winner of CR Washington and South Tama on the 24th at 6:00pm here at Xavier.
Girls Golf:
Congratulations to the girls golf team on placing 5th in their Divisional meet Monday shooting a 410. Meera Julka placed 2nd with a round of 87 and Casey Gannon had 97.
On Tuesday, the girls played in a makeup MVC quad. Meera finished tied for 2nd with a score of 41. The team finished 3rd.
Track and Field:

The team of Naomi Durin, Braylen Conlon, Kate Weiss and Sierra Durin placed 4 x 100m Relay placed 2nd
Congratulations to the following boys who placed in the top 3 at their divisional track meet last night:
The Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Quinn Oleson, Will Hacke, Coleten Beasler-Weber and Grayson Hartman placed 1st
Aidan McDermott placed 2nd in the 100m and 200m dash
Grayson Hartman placed 1st in the 110 High Hurdles
The team of Luke Efting, Michael Cunnungham, Grayson Hartman and Aidan McDermott placed 3rd in the 4x100 relay.
Tonight, the boys and girls will head to Benton for the State Qualifying meet. Events start at 4:30pm. Next week is the state track meet in Des Moines!
Tennis:
Congratulations to both boys and girls tennis teams on defeating Dubuque Senior last Friday. Boys won 7-2 and the girls won 9-0. On Saturday, both teams defeated Iowa City High 9-0.
The boys finished the regular season 13-1 as a team. At Districts on Monday, we had some great overall finishes and state qualifiers. The boys won the 2022 District Championship. A special congratulations to Declan Coe and Hugh Courter on qualifying for State in doubles and to Brady Horstmann and Quincey Johnson on qualifying for State in singles competition! Team play continues on Friday!
The girls finished their season 14-1 as a team. Yesterday, Xavier hosted the individual and doubles regional tournament. Congratulations to Ella Tallett for winning the district in singles, and the team of Courtney Carstensen & Ally Burger on winning the doubles. All will qualify for the state championship. On Saturday, Xavier will host Team tennis state qualifying starting at 9:00am.
Trapshooting:
The Saints hosted the Xavier Open on Saturday at Otter Creek. Congratulations to our trap team on a great weekend.

Congratulations to the following students who earned top 10 finishes at National BPA this past week in Dallas:
Paige Hacke took 10th place in Graphic Design Promotion
William Grainger earned 8th place in Database Applications
Anne Baumann competed in Human Resource Management and finished in 6th place
And the Team of Jake Dougherty, Elena Schmit, William Grainger, and Eli Koopmann finished 5th in the nation at Administrative Support Team.
