Trap Shooting

This past weekend we had some great success for our trap team. Ty Lampe  won high score with a 96 out of 100.  The Xavier blue squad which consists of Sam Wessels, Ben Pieper, Rory Schroud, Ty Lampe, Vanya Fomin

The Saints took second place (out of 19 squads).

Boys Track

Congratulations to the following track athletes on being selected MVC All-Conference.

2nd Team: Quin Fandel (High Jump), Aidan McDermott (100m), 4x800 (Bryor Hansel, Josef Lemker, Marcus Camacho, Sean Steffen) 

Honorable Mention: Jacques D’Almeida (High Jump), Jevin Rexroth (400m), Josef Lemker (800m), Grayson Hartman (110 Hurdles), 4x110 shuttle hurdle (Quin Fandel, Grayson Hartman, Jack Lux, Will Hacke) 

Good luck to all of our State Qualifiers from last weeks’ State Qualifying meet from Solon.  The Saints had 11 events qualifying for the State meet that starts today.

• Distance Medley Relay: Blake Bohon, Jaxon Rexroth, Zack Pisney, Josef Lemker

Girls Track

Boys Soccer

The Saints ended the regular season 10-5.  Last Friday, they defeated Kennedy 1-0 in a battle of 42nd street.

On Monday May 24th, Xavier starts postseason play.  They host the winners of Central DeWitt and Mount Vernon at 6:30pm.  

Girls Soccer

The Saints moved to 10-4 on the season.  They defeated Kennedy 3-0. 

Tomorrow the Saints will take on Linn-Mar here at Xavier starting at 7:15pm.  On Tuesday, the Saints will host their final regular season match against Western Dubuque at 7:15pm before heading to the postseason. 

In the postseason, the Saints will take on the winner of Central DeWitt and Clinton on June 2nd.  Game time is set for 6:00pm.   

Boys Tennis

The Boys will travel to Ballard High School for the sub-state team tennis tournament on Saturday.  Play starts at 9:00am.  If they win, they will take on the winner of North Polk and Centerville in the State Quarterfinals. 

Girls Tennis

In Regional Team tennis last Saturday, the Saints won both of their matches against Marion and Camanche to advance to Regional Championships against Independence held at Xavier High School.  The Regional Finals start at 9:00am.  The winners of the Regional final will play in the State Tournament first round on Monday the 24th hosted at Independence High School starting at 3:00pm. 

Xavier also hosted the individual and doubles regional tournament on Wednesday.  Congratulations to the following Saints for qualifying for the state tournament

Doubles: team of Carstensen and Burger (Champions), team of Avery Link and Ella Tallett (Runner-Up)

Singles: Miyako Coffey (Champion) 

Girls Golf

Congratulations to Kaitlin Hotchkiss on being the medalist at the 2nd Valley Divisional meet Monday with a low score of 80. 

 

Baseball

Baseball opens their season on Monday at the Metro Baseball Tournament held at Prospect Meadows.  Xavier will take on Prairie at 4:00pm.  

 

Softball 

Softball opens their season on Tuesday against Iowa City West.  The Saints host the Trojans at Mount Mercy.  Game time is set for 5:30pm.
