Boys Soccer:
Boys soccer defeated Dubuque Hempstead on Thursday last week 1-0. On Tuesday, they defeated Waterloo East 7-0. The boys sit 5-4 overall on the year. Tomorrow, the boys will host Waterloo West with varsity starting at 7:15pm.
Next week, the boys will travel to Dubuque Senior on Tuesday and will host Kennedy on Friday. Friday is also senior night!
Postseason assignments have been sent out. The boys are in sub-state #3
Girls Soccer:
Girls soccer defeated Dubuque Hempstead 5-0 on Thursday last week. On Tuesday this week, they defeated Waterloo East 6-0. They moved to 7-2 overall on the year. Tonight, the ladies will travel to Waverly-Shell Rock in a battle of top ranked teams in a JV/Varsity double header.
Next week, the girls take on Dubueque Senior at home and Kennedy on the road at Coe College.
Girls Golf:
Xavier Golfer Meera Julka finished 7th overall at the MVC Supermeet with a score of 80. She was 1st overall finisher for the Valley Division.
Next week, the girls will be at the Divisional meet on Monday, home in an MVC makeup on Tuesday, at Ellis on Wednesday for an MVC makeup, and then at Airport for the Prairie Invitational on Thursday.
Track and Field:
Our boys and girls sent multiple events to the Drake Relays last week. For the boys, Aidan McDermott in the open 100, Grayson Hartmann in the 110H, and the boys 4x100 relay. For the girls, Emma Arnold in the 400H and the 4x100 relay.
Grayson finished 6th place overall in the 110H.
Both boys and girls will be competing in the Valley Divisional Meet today. Boys are at home with field events starting at 4:30pm. The Girls are in Waterloo at Memorial Stadium with field events starting at 4:30pm
Next week, both teams will travel to Benton for the state qualifier.
Tennis:
Girls tennis defeated Jefferson 8-1 yesterday afternoon and followed up with a 9-0 victory over Iowa City West. They are now 11-1 on the year and will host ICH tonight in an MVC matchup. Regional play starts next Wednesday here at Xavier.
Boys tennis defeated Jefferson 9-0 yesterday afternoon. They will take on Iowa City High tonight at City High starting at 4:00pm. The boys are 11-1 on the year. District play starts next week Monday as the boys travel to Fairfield.
Trapshooting:
Congratulations to Coach Dummermuth and the Trap Shooting team on their top finishes on Saturday at their competition. The squad of Rory Schroud, Will Fagle, Jackson Dybvig, Ben Pieper, and Ty Lampe had the top overall high score for squads. The squad of Sam Wessels, JJ Kaas, Grant Allen, Carson Eby and Ivan Fomin placed 3rd.Ty Lampe finished 2nd in individuals with a score 96 out of 100.
The Saints will host the Xavier Open on Saturday at Otter Creek beginning at 7:30am.
