All-State Band and Choir:
All-State auditions are this Saturday in Independence. Good luck to all of our Saints auditioning this year.
Boys & Girls Cross Country:
Wednesday, the Boys and Girls cross country teams traveled to Decorah for the 3A state qualifier. The Boys finished 9th overall as a team. The Girls finished 12th overall. Randall Kinner was the top finisher for the boys and he finished 9th overall. This punched his ticket to the State Cross Country meet in Fort Dodge next week!
Football:
The 4A #2 ranked Saints (7-1, 4-0) defeated Newton last week 48-24. The Saints have now won the District 4 title. Tonight, the Saints will travel to Oskaloosa to finish off the regular season. Varsity kickoff is set for 7:30pm.
Next week, the team will host a first round playoff game. The opponent is to be determined but the game time is set for 7:00pm.
Marching Band:
Monday, the Marching Saints finished off a great season with a performance at the Metro Marching Classic hosted at Linn-Mar Stadium. Congratulations on a great season to Ms. Swehla and all the Marching Saints.
Swimming:
Congratulations to the following swimmers who placed in the top 3 in their events at the MVC Divisional on Saturday:
Meera Julka placed 3rd in the 200 Yd Medley Relay
Casey Gannon placed 2nd in the 100 Yd Free Relay and 3rd in the 200 Yd Medley Relay
Maria Trotta placed 2nd in the 100 Yd Freestyle, the 200 Yd Free Relay and the 400 Yd Free Relay
Anne Baumann placed 2nd in the 400 Yd Free Relay and 3rd in the 200 Yd Medley Relay
In the Supermeet also held on Saturday, Maria Trotta placed 3rd in the 200 Yd Free Relay
Volleyball:
Congrats to Coach Filer and Xavier Volleyball on their 3-0 regional semifinal win over Newton last night! Saints now face Norwalk next Tuesday (10/26) in their regional final.
Vocal Music:
The Fall vocal music preview was on Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mr. Schroetter and all of our Saints put on a fantastic performance.
