GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Weekly Highlights: Sept. 17, 2020

Boys & Girls Cross Country: 

Good luck to the boys and girls teams as they travel to Cedar Falls today to compete in the Rich Engel Classic.  Running starts at 4:40pm.  

The teams will be back running again next week Tuesday as they travel to Vinton Shellsburg.

Boys Golf: 

The boys golf team finished second in the first Valley Divisional round on Tuesday.  The team was led by medalist Charlie Allen with a low score of 80.  

Congratulations to the boys golf team on their team victory Wednesday in the MVC quad.  They were led by Medalist--Charlie Allen (XAV) 37,  Runner-up Medalist--Ryan Schmit (XAV) 38.  

They will return to action next Monday here at St. Andrews. 

Swimming:

Kennedy Results for Tuesday at Dubuque Wahlert:

• Anne Baumann: 2nd in 200 Medley relay, 3rd in 200 IM, 3rd in 100 back, 1st in 400 free relay
• Casey Gannon: 2nd in 200 Medley relay, 1st in 200 IM, 2nd in 500 freestyle, 2nd in 400 free relay
• Maria Trotta: 2nd in 200 medley relay, 1st in 50 free, 3rd in 100 fly, 2nd in 400 free relay
• Meera Julka: 3rd in the 200 medley relay, 1st in 200 free relay, 2nd in 400 free relay

Results from Kennedys meet at Dubuque Hempstead: 

• Anne baumann: 1st in 200 medley relay, 1st in 100 free, 3rd in 100 back, 1st in 400 free relay
• Casey Gannon: 1st in medley relay, 2nd in 100 fly, 2nd in 400 free relay
• Meera Julka: 2nd in 50 free, 3rd in 100 fly, 2nd in 200 free relay
• Maria Trotta: 2nd in 200 medley relay, 3rd in 200 IM, 2nd in 100 free, 1st in 200 free relay

The Kennedy team will swim again today at Pleasant Valley. 

Both Washington and Kennedy will swim Saturday at Linn-Mar. 

Volleyball

The 4A #1 ranked Saints won the North Scott Lancer Invitational Saturday going 4-1 on the day. 

On Tuesday, the Saints defeated Dubuque Senior 3-0 on senior night!

The Varsity team will travel to Benton to take part in the Benton Invitational on Saturday and will host Union in a single match on Saturday evening starting at 5:30pm. 

Football:

The Saints moved to 3-0 and 1-0 in the district on the year.  They defeated Clear Creek Amana 30-7 last Friday.  The Saints will be back in action again tomorrow as they host Newton in district play.  

Next Friday the Saints will be on the road at Oskaloosa with Freshmen starting at 5 and varsity at 7:30pm.  

Fall Play:

Auditions have been taking place this week.  Rehearsals will be starting soon for the production of “Noises Off”
