We know that the pandemic has been hard on many right here in our own school community. We also know that the current circumstances have impacted families financially. We want you to know that we have taken some significant steps to bolster our local tuition assistance program and offset a tuition increase here at Xavier for the 2020-2021 school year. Here is what that means specifically:
1. Increase in Available Local Tuition Assistance Funds
Xavier's local tuition assistance program will be increased by 50 percent next school year for families in need of assistance. This means 50 percent more dollars will be available to qualifying Xavier families compared to a "normal" school year. This is a one-time influx made possible through stringent budgeting and re-allocating of resources to help our families.
2. Offsetting of Tuition Increase for 2020-2021
With these same efforts, we are also offsetting the planned tuition increase ($225) for next school year. All Xavier families can expect to see a $225 credit on their student's tuition account for next school year.
We believe that if there ever was an appropriate time to take these steps, it is now. Our faculty and staff remain committed to supporting our Saints and overcoming whatever barriers that may be placed between us and the fulfillment of our mission.
