President's Corner

Welcome to Xavier High School, home of the Saints! 

Xavier High School is part of the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of Dubuque. We serve the educational needs of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area and surrounding communities. Xavier is supported by our eleven local parishes.

The mission of Xavier High School has remained the same since our school opened in 1998, to “develop the total person in a Catholic environment.” We believe this mission especially important today. In a world in which teenagers are continually bombarded with messages contrary to Christ, we are proud of being the only high school in the Cedar Rapids Metro area centered around Him in everything we do.
 
Academically, Xavier’s reputation as one of Iowa’s top academic high schools speaks for itself. Our average ACT score is 23.9, with 91% of our seniors taking the exam. 60% of our juniors and seniors are enrolled in AP level courses. In addition to AP courses, Xavier students can dual enroll and earn credits at St. Louis University, the University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College. We are proud of the reputation Xavier has earned over the years as one of Iowa’s top academic schools.
 
We are also proud of the tight-knit community which exists at Xavier. It’s difficult to get “lost in the cracks” here. 96% of our students are involved in a co-curricular activity. Additionally, all our students perform community service each year. The Xavier activities programs have established themselves as some of the finest in the state of Iowa, earning a multitude of state titles, Division I ratings, and all-state honors.
