Testing

The ISASP is standardized testing completed by all Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors in the spring of each year. These results are used to evaluate and improve the needs for student learning.

The PSAT 10 is the Pre-SAT test that is given once a year to high-achieving Sophomore students in the spring in preparation for the PSAT in their junior year. Registration for this test is completed in the 8to18 parent portal on our website.

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is given once a year to juniors in October. This test is used to determine National Merit Scholars Qualifiers which can open many scholarship opportunities to high-scoring students. Registration is completed in the 8to18 parent portal.

The ACT or American College Test is a standardized college admissions test. It is required by many but not all colleges. This test can be taken at any time during high school but the optimal time would be during a student's junior year. It is offered 7 times during the year on National test dates. It is offered at Xavier only in October & April. Registration is completed only on their website: www.myACT.org 
 

The SAT or Scholastic Aptitude Test is another standardized college admissions test. Since this is also a college admissions test, the optimal time to take it would be during a student's junior year. The SAT is also offered only 7 times during the year on National test dates. It is not offered here at Xavier. Registration is completed on the CollegeBoard website: www.CollegeBoard.org
